The “hero’s journey”

I’m sure if I was any good at it, I’d be an actor,

Like we all would if we could, probably,

I’d want to be the lead star, going my ways,

Hither and thither, and I’d find you,

As an aside, the woman of my dreams,

Who’d teach me everything, and then I’d grow

In my starring role, into a hero, find myself,

I could set love aside for a greater purpose – I –

To become immortal, but I’m a lousy actor, it’s true,

And you’ve rewrote the story: everything onward,

Queen obsidian butterfly, a fluttering rainbow now,
