Before I was born, the winds they brought mum here,
She had a friend to this day said
Life’s too short
Do what’s best for you
She was well-meaning, an old friend
But how take air from sunlight, red gone orange-yellow crest,
It’s breath,
Tonight, a hibiscus flower just hibiscus flower
My heart, like the moon set there
Be just there, always moon, my heart that’s set in the sky
Since time, well, since time flowered open, I arrived,
She owns my heart, now
But I didn’t say anything, all the people passing by
They think they know better
