From first being near you, I’ve wanted to be near you,
Lies in my arms, I in yours to correct them,
Heart knocking my love, on a tsunami chasing me
Corruption follows in its wake, oil slick over unreality
Now you feel bad about yourself I know, as it follows, and no,
You’re good, better than me, and I’ll correct some lies
It’s my fault I want you near me, and I ask you to knock
As if the universe depended on you, and it’s hard, dear
When my unreality has washed over you, near
Not really there-
Absent shells, centred around you try knock
All gaseous balloons with goofy faces, popping
Deflating as truth bears shape, they fart into confetti
For a better wedding, absent always of anything but us,
Could not be real, for only to knock, is anymore reality
My metaphysics, theology, all stacked on my shelf
Waiting for you to arrive and look at them
An entire planet
Obliterated –
If you knock
Whirlpools, twisters, gravity
In your knuckles
Spell casting around centres, science dances
At your fingers –
Reality itself collapses
More than a theory, more than the real itself, that collapses, in yourself –
Knock on wood!
If you knock-
An entire fantasy,
Obliterated in love’s ecstasy
And I go on thus, speaking, seems into the aether of love-
I want to hold you more than ever, why can’t you just knock on my door? Then I’ll know it’s you, you’ll be in front of me, I’ll know I’m not imagining you, who i see everywhere, why don’t you just knock, or say something, or reply on facebook, or let me know it’s really you?
As you feel bad about yourself now, I know you do
The look in your eyes and all the lies they told you
And me not believing anything I ever see or hear
Me believing you’re a fantasy, dear
Just knock – love depends on you, where the future leads
To lead whereto? To knock at that door, to see you, forever,
Knock on me, I’ll take blame, on me, falls reality
