I went for a walk today
To feel the political climate
On the landscape
People look piteously (tho I’m sorry for them)
Evangelicals preach at cafes (coffees hot in the backwaters)
Misogyny by construction (they’re building a new Stralia)
Women go apeshit at I, the bad female Beatles
All, sheeplike (colonists herded like indigenous with hooves digging up the soil)
The birds sing (they love the daylight)
Trees call out (always about love)
And I saw the road, buildings and lights
Crumbling to dust
And the earth rise up
And I know my wings
I’m sure of them now
I looked up
Unafraid
Tho perhaps my fate be
Burned at the stake
Just sadly, this was the best humans thought up
There’s magic
Moisture hovering, ready to form
I am free
Chasing a diamond
Like the dragon,
Thru hell
I gleam
I am free
I love myself, as if I finally found myself
After a lifetime
And I think now, I can love
